Welcome to our clinic
We are a seikotsuin (整骨院, a judo therapy clinic), not an orthopedic hospital.
On Google Maps, we appear as “Gotanno Central Orthopedic Clinic,” but there are no doctors here. Our nationally licensed judo therapists (柔道整復師) treat injuries. We do not take X-rays or prescribe medicine.
You don’t need to speak Japanese. Many international patients visit our clinic.
If you have Japanese health insurance, you may be able to use it for your treatment.
We are a 5-minute walk from Gotanno Station on the Tobu Skytree Line. We are open until 8 p.m. on weekdays, so you can stop by on your way home from work.
Do I need to speak Japanese?
No, you don’t. We have an English questionnaire, and our staff use a translation app to communicate. You can point to where it hurts and use the translation function on your smartphone to explain how you were injured.
- You are welcome to use the translation app on your own phone.
- If anything is unclear, please feel free to ask our staff.
- Each bed is separated by a curtain.
- We have pants you can change into, so it’s fine to come in a suit or a skirt.
Can I use health insurance?
If you are enrolled in Japanese public health insurance (such as National Health Insurance or employee health insurance), you can use it for your treatment. You pay 10% to 30% of the cost, depending on your insurance.
Health insurance can be used for injuries.
This includes fractures, dislocations, bruises (contusions), sprains, and strains.
We will explain at your visit whether you can use insurance.
Depending on your condition, the treatment may not be covered by insurance, and you will pay the full cost. Please feel free to ask us first.
What to bring
- Your My Number Card registered as a health insurance card (マイナ保険証), or your Certificate of Eligibility (資格確認書)
- Please show it at your first visit each month.
For fractures and dislocations, we will explain the treatment when you visit.
What kinds of injuries do you treat?
We treat injuries such as:
- Fractures and dislocations
- Bruises (contusions)
- Sprains
- Strains (such as pulled muscles)
We also treat injuries from traffic accidents and injuries at work (workers’ compensation, rosai). Treatment is provided by nationally licensed staff (judo therapists / 柔道整復師, and acupuncturists / 鍼灸師). If we think you need to see a doctor, we will refer you to a hospital or clinic.
How much does it cost?
